What is the difference between software activations and aftermarket boxes?
Our Software Activations: 100% native OEM programming performed directly through your vehicle’s OBD2 diagnostic port. No dashboard teardowns, no spliced wiring, and zero risk of electrical lag or hardware failure. Your factory backup cameras, steering wheel controls, and audio systems remain perfectly integrated.

Aftermarket Interface Boxes: Require physically opening the infotainment system to insert third-party hardware modules.

2. Warranty, Safety & Dealer Servicing

Will software coding or feature activations void my factory warranty?
No. Under Australian Consumer Law, a manufacturer cannot void your overall vehicle warranty simply because software parameters were updated. To decline a warranty claim, a dealer must prove that a modification directly caused a mechanical or electrical failure.

Because our activations use factory parameterizations designed by OEM engineers for your specific hardware (e.g., front windscreen camera or MIB/PCM display), they operate strictly within factory safety tolerances and do not trigger anything such as ECU tunes do such as engine tuning flags (like TD1).

What happens if the dealership updates my car’s software during a routine service?
If a main dealer performs a major factory recall or full system software reflash (SVM update), it may occasionally reset custom codings back to stock factory settings.

Our Guarantee: If a dealership overwrites your software activation within 12 months, bring your vehicle back to Melbourne VWAG Solutions and we will re-code it for free (or for a minimal labour fee depending on the service).

Are your software modifications reversible?
Yes, 100%. All of our codings, dataset parameterizations, and software updates are fully reversible and can be restored back to stock factory settings at any time.

3. Software Activations (CarPlay, TSR, ADAS)

Why doesn’t my Porsche or Bentley have full-screen CarPlay or Android Auto from the factory?
Many modern Porsche (PCM 5.0), Bentley, and VW models feature widescreen displays, but factory software limits smartphone integration to a small central window with thick black side borders (or disables Android Auto entirely). We update your infotainment system’s firmware to unlock true widescreen visuals across the entire display.

How does Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR) work on Australian roads?
TSR uses your vehicle’s factory windscreen-mounted multi-function camera combined with GPS map data to scan road signs, school zones, and overhead digital gantries in real time. Live speed limit alerts are then displayed directly in your Virtual Cockpit, digital gauge cluster, or Head-Up Display (HUD).

How do I know if my car supports Lane Keep Assist (LKA) or TSR?
Your vehicle must be equipped with the factory front multi-function camera array located at the top of the windscreen (near the rearview mirror). You can send us your 17-digit VIN, and we will perform a free compatibility check to confirm exactly what features your hardware supports.

4. Trade & Independent Workshop Support

Do you offer trade rates for independent European mechanics and smash repairers?
Yes. We partner with mechanics, prestige body shops, auto-electricians, and detailers across Melbourne and Australia. We assist workshops with Component Protection (CP) removal, online SVM module coding, immobilizer matching, and ADAS camera/radar setup so you can keep complex jobs in-house.

5. How does remote coding work?

For customers outside Melbourne or intestate clients, remote programming is simple:
You connect our VAS diagnostic cable that we send you to your car’s OBD2 port and plug it into a Windows laptop with a stable Wi-Fi connection. We then remotely access the session using secure remote software and log into official factory online servers to complete the programming.
